PA 116202 bug?
-
Hi,
Created a .7z file and encrypted it (not using PAE option) and encrypted file names.
If I open the file via the MRU list and select cancel, then do it again after clicked out of the error message, the ribbon becomes blank and PA has to be closed and reloaded to get them back.
Attached is a screen shot of what I get as soon as I try to open the file for a second time.

Edit: I can email the file I made if it will help.

nice catch!

i already reported something similar, but you are the first one officially

nice catch!
Thanks! All I was trying to do was to see evidence that the file names had been encrypted…by seeing if the file could be opened but the file names rendered in gibberish. Is there anyway to check that the names have indeed been encrypted too?

you cant open archive at all… correct behaviour by PA would be to cleanly exit from archive.
(if you do not provide proper password).
-
it now tells you that it can not open archive if you enter wrong password or cancel… we fixed that issue. thanks!

How can I check that the filenames have been encrypted?

you will not be able to open archive at all without password… thats how.
without it, you will be able to open archive but just see + sign next to the encrypted files…

Ahhh, now I understand.
Many thanks.
