Rar problem
-
if you use the windows explorer shell extentions to open a rar file of aabout 13gb with powerarchiver it does seem to work checked the same file out with winrar and it opens it no problem from shell extentions. so it has to be a pa fault.

creating a 13 gig RAR to see what’s up.
further details would help

well in truth it was about 23 gbs but for testing i then went back to 13 and still had the problem as for my detauils here goes same as before used shell extensions to open the rar file with pa and the progress bar comes up but nothing. if you use winrar it opens the file and extarcts the file which pa was unable to do

am I out of the loop in regards to a previous issue?
What’s the problem?
are you extracting or opening via shell?
Which shell option are you using?
If extracting from main PA, how are you extracting it?at it works fine here
thanks :)

you need to find out more about that file… it is not because of the size… does it open when you doubleclick on it?

you need to send us more info… “some rar files open ok in winrar but not in pa winrar” means really nothing.
Best would be to send us support email and upload the files to our ftp once we send you info via support. Without it, we can not do anything.

will truy and redig out the file when i have time.

Did you ever get it resolved? Same thing has started happening to me intermittently

not really though reformating my computer and reinstall windows 2000 solved the problem. I must thank pa for sticking by windows 2000 theybare a life saver
