Tar.gz files

I’m not sure if PowerArchiver supports tar.gz files but when I try to extract one not compressed by PowerArchiver I get the error:
Error writing to a file.
Possible reasons: Disk full […]
Please check permissions […]I have disk space and I’m extracting to the Download folder, so I know I have permission to extract there.
Thanks :)

which program was it compressed with?

I don’t know, the files (I tried 2) were off the internet and from different websites.

I tried an extract of that file (using right click inside PA) and it mostly worked. There’s a change-log file inside that didn’t get extracted, but otherwise it seemed to work fine.
I can view the change-log file from inside PA using an external viewer (notepad2.exe).

Check with latest release:
http://tinyurl.com/ycbx4trit should work fine, works fine here.

I installed that version and it extracts ok in PowerArchiver. Still can’t extract via the context menu but that might be an admin issue.
