[Win7] Splited rar archive freezes PA
-
When I try to open rar archive split into parts I get Reading folder message and nothing happens., progress bar remains 0% and Windows reports that application is not responding. There is no activity on the disc (nothing is being read from the filesystem)
Windows 7, 64 bit.
-
I tested it with a 61 part ‘rar’ archive but the process worked fine for me…tested it several times in gui and shell.
Windows 7, 64 bit Ultimate RTM build.

how are you opening it, shell or main pa? Did you try both methods?
What version of PA are you using?
And can we download it somewhere? If it is torrent, you can email it to us via support @ conexware . com
I doubt it has anything to do with 64bit or Win7.

It happens all the time, does not matter how I open it. Through shell menu or directly from the opening menu.
Here is the archive I can reproduce the problem with: http://rapidshare.com/files/277310151/PAwithrecovery_test.7z.htmlPA Version 11.60.12

I’m having the same issue, but PowerArchiver can’t open ANY rar files, Win7 64bit RTM Final build.
Using 11.60.10I have tried opening PA first, then going to File->Open Archive, at which time PA is busy processing, but never finishes and is unresponsive.
I have tried right clicking on rar archive and going to Extract Here, which produces the same results.
I also tried just double clicking the rar archive in Explorer and same behavior occurs.
-
Correct, I double checked and regular rar files also affected, so it does not matter if the archive is split or not. Any rar file will freeze PA.

Just downloaded and extracted via right click (.rar archives) and the MHTML Document extracted without any issues using PA 11.60.12 and W7 64bit.

I will reinstall the program and try again

Check this version out:
http://www.powerarchiver.com/test/examples/paunrar3.zipreplace it with your own. Does that help?
-
If that does not help, check 11.50 official release… install it and see if that works for you.
There were changes to that dll between 11.50 and 11.60….
-
You rock, it works like a charm :)

This one fixed the issue. I replaced my DLL with the one in the Zip file and PA now opens RAR files.

Yes, new dll fixed the problem. Thanks a lot!

Hi guys,
we have new dll for you to test. Please extract attached dll to your PA folder and let us know if these files that failed in your reports above, work fine now. It seems that ICC has had big issue which might have caused it - just making sure this has been fixed.
thanks!
