PA 21.00.18 Action / Test behaves oddly for me on .PA files
    Brian GregoryB

PA 21.00.18 running on Windows 7 64 bit.
I made a big .PA file and thought I’d check it was made correctly with Menu / Actions / Test.
    Discovered:
    a) PA always issues a UAC prompt to do this!
    b) PA always says there are many errors in PA files.

Convert archive is incorrect for some WinRAR 5 archives
    W

WinRAR 5 has a rather useful option in some cases, which is to be able to create an archive by replacing identical files with a reference to the first occurrence (hardlink) within the archive.
In case you choose to convert the file with PowerArchiver to another format, however, the resulting archive does not have all the files. It does not consider those that were present as hardlinks.
If you do a normal extraction of the RAR archive instead, even with PowerArchivier, all the files are extracted correctly.

I’ve noticed when trying to extract an encrypted file created in PA (latest build) that I get 2 different context menus when using Vista 32bit and Windows 7 RTM 64bit.
I don’t get the option to extract in W7 but only to compress once again.

see menus in animated screenshot below.

                        error code 2329?
what’s that all about guys I wonder…reared it’s ugly head when it tried to install the update.

I used the update via PA at first and then downloaded the latest release but got the same error code each time when trying to install.

                        solved

I had to uninstall the previous build before installing latest…and ‘YES’ the initial problem reported in this thread is fixed…many thanks Team…:)
