PA 21.00.18 running on Windows 7 64 bit.
I made a big .PA file and thought I’d check it was made correctly with Menu / Actions / Test.
Discovered:
a) PA always issues a UAC prompt to do this!
b) PA always says there are many errors in PA files.
WinRAR 5 has a rather useful option in some cases, which is to be able to create an archive by replacing identical files with a reference to the first occurrence (hardlink) within the archive.
In case you choose to convert the file with PowerArchiver to another format, however, the resulting archive does not have all the files. It does not consider those that were present as hardlinks.
If you do a normal extraction of the RAR archive instead, even with PowerArchivier, all the files are extracted correctly.
Add Window Buttons Don't Work
-
PowerArchiver Pro 11.50.61 (Registered, ICIM)
WinXP Pro SP3My Add window starts totally blank. The Desktop / Documents / Computer / Network buttons do nothing.
If I click “Add Files…”, I can add files to the Add dialog. And if I click “Add Folders…”, the “Select folder” dialog that opens has Desktop / Documents / Computer / Network buttons that work.
The Add window also doesn’t remember its screen position. It does remember its size however.

Advanced Add window, uncheck the option and see if normal one works properly… thanks.

Confirmed
(PA GUI - both New Archive and Open /Add) -

I’m seeing the same thing as TBGBe–with the “advanced add” option off, the normal add window seems to work fine.

ah, so those buttons shouldnt work anyway, they shouldnt be there, right (computer/documents, etc)? Advanced Add window only has added files/folder in the list if I remember correctly.

I couldn’t tell you, but that would make sense (i.e. if those buttons were removed). To me, this should be called a “Batch add” rather than “Advanced add” window.

This should work properly now in latest release:

Well the computer / documents … etc buttons don’t appear anymore. Assuming that’s all you meant to change, it worked!
Thank you!
You guys are cool. (insert cutesy emoticon crap here)
