same for me the zip does not work. it all makes PowerArchiver say unusable.

french version. (windows 7 64bits RC1 and WIndows vista 64bits SP2) I have two licence

That’s the beta phase reserved for the English and German.
we are left with a final unusable. awesome. just reinstall the older version 2009

and more still no full version 64bits
on this point, the developer 7zip should be more talented

can you please tell us more on how are you creating these files. Is it spanning or?

can you try selecting and compressing only several of these files, maybe it is some specific file/filename that is causing it to happen and that could help us isolate the issue.

I have tested with 50 GB archive and all went well. So it has to be a bit more specific.

I have tried zipping and splitting large sets of files, but none cause the problem except those from my VMware sets of files, and not all of those.

The problem appears to be related to zipping up large files that when finished, end up being near the end of the split boundary.

Example, I had eleven vm files that were all nearly 2GB in size. If I zipped them in dictionary name order, I could repeat the error, but if I renamed them and zipped in a different order, the problem did not exist. File name length seems to have nothing to do with the error.

Does any of this make any sense?

not really, but i will try creating VM files of same size and reproducing it like that :)

would it be possible for us to download those original files? Only way we can reproduce it (and fix it).

Maybe try with less files but same folder (smaller file size) and see if that works or not, if we can get smaller sample it will be easier.

The file set is over 32GB, plus this is a VMware image that contains proprietary software. There is no way I could get it to you. I’ll try to come up with a repeatable scenario that causes the problem using smaller and different files, however the problem only seems to show up at the DVD sized split boundary.

See if you can reproduce the problem using the below steps.

Download http://www.bertel.de/software/rdfc/rdfc.zip
Unzip the rdfc.exe file and put it in a temporary directory with at least 37GB of space.
From the temporary directory, create the test files by running the following commands in order:

Highlight all the vmdk files, right-click and select parameters per the attached pic.

I then open the .zip file in Winzip and perform a ‘Test’. I get a CRC error. If you unzip with PA, you should eventually get either a CRC error, an erroneous password prompt, etc.
