Problem with PA 2009 and some files created by zip 3.0
-
PA 2009 opens but does not extract the test zip file attached. The file opens just fine with 7-zip, Info-zip’s unzip (beta) and winzip.

Works fine for me.:)

Doesn’t work for me.

Nor for me using GUI or shell but no error message.
Can see filelist inside GUI but view or extract doesn’t work. Test reports all files OK. -
OK. Now it doesn’t work for me too.
I first opened the attached zip file with PA GUI and the file extractet correctly. For few minutes I tried again and I realized, that the extracted file is the zip file that doesn’t work. The file has no ending, so that I don’t tried to open it.
I thought, that the attached zip file was the one that doesn’t work. But it is the file in the zip file.

file is broken zip file that is using zip bzip2 compression not supported by PA 2009. It does not work in 7zip, WR shows error and securezip shows error as well.
Maybe it is due to attachment issues?
In any case, if it is compressed with bzip2 method in zip, it will not work with PA 2009.

Yup, it is a bzip2 zip file created by Info-zip zip v3 - we use it to generate these and the corresponding Info-zip unzip 6.0 to unzip these for an in-house app. I can’t open these with PA tho’ - any hope of getting support for these type of files in PA?

And here I thought PA could extract anything. ;)
