happy to hear that…unfortunately I’ve got no access to alpha builds…so I must wait for the bug to be fixed in a public release…

another similar issue found.
download the latest eTrust EZ antivirus here:
ftp://213.35.101.4/pub/myeTrust/apps/EZAntivirus.exeit’s again a self extracting cab archive.
try to extract it wit PA…and the operation will fail.
Win***, on the contrary, makes it smoothly.are you going to fix it in the next release?
check it out…and thank you! -
Not to worry, it’s already been fixed in the alpha. :)
-
just to state that with the latest 9.10.06 the two files I mentioned here are correctly decompressed! :)

an ealier version of pa before it was shareware had a feature which detected the struction of a archive and told you what it was. i tried it on the file and it correctly told me ir was a cab sfx
thought this feature should be included with pa again

Isn’t that just under properties? Although, I do agree there should be more information listed. But, that’s on the wishlist.

Yes, it is unrelated post, however FYI that feature was removed because it did not support a lot of newer archives not did that component have support for Delphi 5 when we moved to it long, long, long time ago :-).
Problem has been solved, I am closing the thread.
thank you,
