PowerArchiver 2009 Pro
-
Hi
I’m trying PA2009 for the first time today (18Jul2009).
I installed it and registered but I was not able to try PRO features because it says my 30 days pro trial is over…
Anyway, I’d like to know if PRO version allow me to FTP a file (via context menu) without compressing it first.
If not please accept this as a suggestion: right click a file in Explorer (like an image) and FTP it without compression. It’d be really useful.
Thank you in advance!
:)

Hi Carlospr,
With regards to your registration try uninstalling PA, deleting the registry links (if you are comfortable in doing do) then reinstall Beta 1.
Also in reflection of your question on FTP PowerArchiver 2009 Can only FTP Compressed Files.
If you select a standard uncompressed file and right click it to FTP it PA will compress and then transfer over.
This has been discussed in Alpha Testing. And PA Plan to make even more improvments to the FTP Side of things in the future.
The developers just had so many things to work on for the PRO version! as you can probably tell.

As to the FTP - it has fully featured client in the PA window. You can do whatever.
But currently, it will not show upload to FTP for all files in shell extensions…. good idea.
How about Implementing it as Send to> FTP, standard Windows Send to Extension for shell?

I uninstalled and installed PA2009 again but this time I didn’t register it and now I can test PRO features. :)
Thank you.
Regarding FTP: since the PRO version has a real FTP client (quite handy by the way) it could be a PRO option to add “FTP It” for any file (a complement to PRO FTP client).
So the PRO version would have “Compress & FTP” and just “FTP It” in context menu for uncompressed files.
I really think it should be a context menu item and not a Send To item.
In resume, FTP any file with context menu support will be a nice addition to FTP client feature in the PRO version.
If you add such feature I’ll probably not use my FTP client anymore. :D

oh right, you registered standard.
I know, thats the issue - we wanted to Remove Pro links for Standard owners so they wouldnt think we are forcing them to buy Pro.
But that of course means Standard registered owners wont be able to try Pro options.

it may be a little checkbox in the Setings - “enable Pro features for the trial period”? plus, we can ask this when user registers program
