I’m looking forward to deploying PowerArchiver 2023 to my users. Can you tell us when the MSI will be available for download and distribution?
Thanks.
Just tried using the Modern (Windows 10) Icon set and seeing a few missing icons in both PowerArchiver Burner and PowerArchiver Encryption screens . They are all there in the Minimalistik icon set and the only difference I can see is the former is blue and the latter grey. In version 22.00.9

Hi there,
there were some security issues fixed in 7zip:
https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1165/
https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1164/
As it seems, that PowerArchiver and PACL use the 7zip libraries, could you please update them to the latest version?
Hi,
From where I get PAVD2023.EXE? PowerArchiver 2023 tries to open it.
But it seems, it tries to download PAVD2021.EXE.
Thanks
I noticed that the version of ZPAQ used is older than the latest released 7.15 https://mattmahoney.net/dc/zpaq.html also there seems to be a newer fork that adds several features https://github.com/fcorbelli/zpaqfranz
It would be useful to implement this latest version (it also maintains the same syntax and behavior as the latest official release if used the -715 flag) and add when opening a zpaq file a choice of the version of the files to show (e.g. as dummy folders represented the various versions present). Since any previous changes are stored with this format, it is possible to extract a snapshot of a certain date/version.
If I open a password-protected zipper file (created with WinRAR but I think that’s irrelevant), open it with PowerArchiver and run “Remove Encryption” on the same file, then reopen it and add a password with “Encrypt Archive,” the resulting archive will be protected with the old ZipCrypto algorithm and not AES as indicated.
(this can be verified, for example, by trying to open the archive files with Windows Explorer, which does not support the AES algorithm)
PA 21.00.18 running on Windows 7 64 bit.
I made a big .PA file and thought I’d check it was made correctly with Menu / Actions / Test.
Discovered:
a) PA always issues a UAC prompt to do this!
b) PA always says there are many errors in PA files.
PA 2.02 removing images from e-mails.

Hello,
I am using PA for Outlook, version 2.02. When I embed a picture into a message body and then send the message, the picture is removed from the e-mail, just a blank space remains. This never happened before I installed PA nor it happens now when I uninstalled it. Anyway, I would like to use it as I find it very useful. Any ideas?
Thanks. Miro

Hi Miro,
what images specifically? Let us know of their extension.
Also, are images getting compressed into zip file or?
thanks,

thanks,
For example screenshots created by PrtScn button and pasted directly into the message body (so there is no extension). I am talking about images that are inserted directly into the message body, not as attachments, so they do not get compressed.
Some more info: I am using Vista SP1 + MS Outlook 2007 SP1.

p.s. thanks for the info. It has been entered in our bug list and will be looked at in few weeks, when we get enough time to turn our attention away from more pressing matters :-).
thanks!

Hi,
we tried to reproduce this and we could not.
Maybe it is due to specific setting. Can you please export to reg HKCU\Software\PAOutlook registry key, via reg edit, then compress it to zip and send it to our support address (first via form and then reply to email that you get).
That will definetly help us a lot. And if you could do it relativly fast, we can have solution almost as fast :-).
thank you!

Strange, I can’t reproduce it again. I had uninstalled PAO when this problem started to occur and installed it again after your request to export the settings so maybe the reinstallation helped to solve it? Or maybe I use different settings now? I don’t know, maybe the problem will appear again. Anyway, I have sent you the registry settings via support form, hope it helps.
Thanks a lot!

it wont help if it works now :-).
I will try with different settings to see if it could be reproduced. If not, when it starts doing it again, let us know and send us those settings.
thanks!

Well, the problem continues… Today, with exactly the setting I have sent you, another picture was removed, so I had to uninstall it again.
-
did you do anything different? how did you add the picture? We tried both inserting and pasting?
-
also, do you have any other plugins installed?
-
We got it now… it is probably due to removal of all of the default filters. We are checking it out.
thanks,
-
I have Adobe PDF, Adobe Contribute and Send to Bluetooth plugins installed.

I have the same problem (PAOP v2.02).
I use SnagIt to send a screen dump as email. Before sending, the emails looks ok, afterwards the picture is gone. I use HTML email’s.
Same thing happens when I past the image form the clipboard.
As attachment (image) my registry dump.
