GDI+ Installation on Win2000
-
The PA installation 10.20 brings up a missing components dialog on windows 2000 SP4.
It says that GDI+ must get installed. Performing this with the suggested folder “%ProgramFiles%\PowerArchiver” results again in component missing.
The only way to get out of the loop is to change the folder to winnt\system32 directory. -
is this the same folder you installed PowerArchiver? Or did you install it somewhere else?
-
Well it’s the folder where PA should get installed, but it’s not yet installed at this point.

we will improve something in installation so this should not be an issue in the future… thanks!

I’m still getting this problem on Windows 2000 SP4, with version 1100rc1.
Only this time, the only way to get out of the loop is to install the downloaded version to D:\Program Files\PowerArchiver , where D: is the drive where Windows 2000 is installed.
The program itself then happily installed to E: drive, as usual.
Additionally the downloaded DLL was a 2004 version. There was already a 2006 version in D:\WINNT\system32, but that wasn’t seen by the installer.
This is probably academic, given that Windows 2000 is getting on, even by my standards, but just so you know.
