10.20 release version won't overinstall
-
Why won’t the 10.20 release version install over the top of RC2 (10.20.16)? It says I have to uninstall the old version first?!

-
have not come accross with that one, what software are you running at the time
-
just uninstall it and install it again…

just uninstall it and install it again…
But I’ll lose all my settings.
It takes me ages to get PA set up the way I want it.
Why is it happening?
Is it going to happen every time you introduce a new version from now on?

probably some issue with one of those betas installed… you can export your PA settings from registry if you wish and then execute them later with new version…
-
does this always happen if you try out a beta alpha version
-
nope… i dont know why it happened with that version, probably something wrong with install and probably with one of the alphas that we dont check that well…
so dont worry about it, just uninstall/install and it will work awesome after you execute that key :-)

Saved the whole of [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PowerArchiver]
Uninstalled old PA
Restored saved [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PowerArchiver]
Installed new PASeems to have achieved the desired effect.
Thanks.
