Just tried using the Modern (Windows 10) Icon set and seeing a few missing icons in both PowerArchiver Burner and PowerArchiver Encryption screens . They are all there in the Minimalistik icon set and the only difference I can see is the former is blue and the latter grey. In version 22.00.9

Hi there,
there were some security issues fixed in 7zip:
https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1165/
https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1164/
As it seems, that PowerArchiver and PACL use the 7zip libraries, could you please update them to the latest version?
Hi,
From where I get PAVD2023.EXE? PowerArchiver 2023 tries to open it.
But it seems, it tries to download PAVD2021.EXE.
Thanks
I noticed that the version of ZPAQ used is older than the latest released 7.15 https://mattmahoney.net/dc/zpaq.html also there seems to be a newer fork that adds several features https://github.com/fcorbelli/zpaqfranz
It would be useful to implement this latest version (it also maintains the same syntax and behavior as the latest official release if used the -715 flag) and add when opening a zpaq file a choice of the version of the files to show (e.g. as dummy folders represented the various versions present). Since any previous changes are stored with this format, it is possible to extract a snapshot of a certain date/version.
If I open a password-protected zipper file (created with WinRAR but I think that’s irrelevant), open it with PowerArchiver and run “Remove Encryption” on the same file, then reopen it and add a password with “Encrypt Archive,” the resulting archive will be protected with the old ZipCrypto algorithm and not AES as indicated.
(this can be verified, for example, by trying to open the archive files with Windows Explorer, which does not support the AES algorithm)
PA 21.00.18 running on Windows 7 64 bit.
I made a big .PA file and thought I’d check it was made correctly with Menu / Actions / Test.
Discovered:
a) PA always issues a UAC prompt to do this!
b) PA always says there are many errors in PA files.
Fugly tabbed configuration layout

better look and feel for older systems
This configuration layout is less intuitive and is a regression from the more modern configuration layout seen in the prior version. Please go back to the [much prettier, much more intuitive] vertical layout or at least check if system is an “older system” :p before making it look like this dysfunctional layout. Most newer programs and newer versions of long-time programs are moving away from this tabbed configuration layout style especially programs that have lots of configuration options. It just looks better and makes it so you don’t have to go digging to find the configuration option you’re looking for. And, there’s no sense in making a new, modern program look vintage/legacy. Thanks for reading.

here we go again… people complain about new config, people complain about old config…
why shouldnt I be suprised?
New Interface will return for 10.2 when we are making more changes to modern look and then tabbed interface will be for classic and left side will be for modern…

we moved it out because it really, really looked bad for anyone not using themes (such as XP w/o themes, and Win2k/Win98…)

Cool, excellent plan.

I believe you but I just tested Windows Classic theme on my VirtualPC XP-SP2 which I use for testing and I didn’t really notice anything out of the ordinary other than the fact that Windows Classic theme isn’t very pretty. :p I wonder if this problem is with machines with low memory display adapters or onboard display adapters not being able to use 16-bit or 32-bit graphics… Would you mind posting a screenshot?

Thank god you are bringing back the new sytle menu back again! I downloaded the new beta and went into the options and to my supprise it was the old layout again…
my thoughts were “here we go back to the stone age again”
If you don’t have a computer that cant support skins and new GUI then get a new one were in 2007 people not 1991!
I find it some what funny that we still have people esspecially in the UK and USA who still use windows 95,98,98SE and ME.
Grant not eveyone likes windows Vista, but if you like the old ways upgrade to XP atleast.
Powerarchiver team keep up the great work in modernising your software!
