How many run Vista?

That is only one persons opinion. ;)
Yes, you’re right. I don’t like ubuntu, other people do. Everyone’s happy :)

I’m running Vista.

I just purchased a new desktop with Vista. What a difference a year makes. I remember when I purchased my laptop a year ago with Vista, I had programs that didn’t work quite right, lots of driver issues.
Now, the new computer setup without any problems. No driver issues, all programs have release updates to work with Vista.
Maybe there is still hope for Vista.

vista on my laptop, xp on my desktop
at first I liked vista, then I didn’t, now I do again.:)
it grows on you! -
just XP, I can’t stand Vista!
-
vista is still a long way from perfect and untill vista develops into a more bug free version then i will buy a new computer

unless there are some specific issues with some hardware that you have, Vista is now better than XP.
I just got new laptop with XP installed and Vista is actually faster than XP now.

What are you serious? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I have a very beefie laptop that can handle Crysis at full settings and Vista runs slower than XP. Every game runs slower on vista than it does on XP, their is no comparison.

…Vista is now better than XP.
Vista is not “now better”. It always has been BETTER. There were/are problems with some applications which also didn’t work under the User Account in xp, but this is a question to their developers.
Windows Vista is really the most secure and most powerful OS! And it is normal that new software requires new hardware!I just got new laptop with XP installed and Vista is actually faster than XP now.
I also tried installing xp on my Quad-core/4gb Ram pc and Vista works FASTER!

yep… quite serious. For applications, it is faster.
Gaming is different, depends on drivers, but I believe that latest set of drivers from nvidia are now faster on Vista.

I will never buy Vista for the simple fact that an Operating System is suppose to give the user control over the hardware. But in Vista, it’s all pretty and stuff. There is an Opensource Windows (XP-like interface) called ReactOS that I’m keeping my eyes peeled on. If you google it you will find it. I’m not here to advertise it or spam it :P
-
As more new computers are sold Vista will eventually be the common OS.
-
I use Vista Business
-
I use 32-bit Vista on everything desktop/laptop; but I just changed over to 64-bit Vista on a dual quad-core system.:D

Vista will never be as good or as fast as XP. You won’t see them extending the support for Vista like they did for XP. Vista was a huge mistake that they are still trying to cover over. Windows 7 will go the same way as it is just Vista redone.
-
FWIW I really like Vista. There are some usability changes which I cannot do without. I can live with the loss of a few FPS in games. Win 7 will be to Vista what win 98 was to ME. Apparently, the alpha is already faster and leaner than Vista. Hope to get a copy and check it out ;).
