Simple operation Compress to ZIP of any file from
context menu to file.ZIP causes error:
–-------------------------
PowerArchiverError writing to a file. Possible reasons: Disk full or no write permission.
OK
at the end.
Of course disk is not full and write permission is OK,
because Compress to 7z works fine !?
I reinstalled PA from scratch and cleaned registry MANUALLY, -
uninstall does NOT do it right leaving behind a lot !
Nothing helps :(

it seems to be an actual permissions issue. Can someone please check if it works when you create the file (New> new text file.txt) and then compressing it?
thanks,
-
It does not work on my side.
I can create a New Text Document.txt file or a New Word Document.doc file.
When I select Compress to “New Text Document.zip”, I get the permission error. The error message occurs at the end of the compression.
One thing that was not mentioned in the previous post is that the problem occurs when you compress something which is not on the same drive than the TEMP directory (or whatever PA uses as temporary directory)
The bug does not occurs when I compress something on the C: driver.
It occurs when I compress something on the E: drive -

Check this update to the zip engine:
http://www.powerarchiver.com/test/release/update963021.exeMake sure it installs to the PowerArchiver folder.
See if that helps.thanks!

This seems to have fixed the problem.

The update fixes the problem on my side.
I have noticed a small problem in the self-extracting archive you sent.
When you press the ‘…’ button to access a directory chooser, if the directory specified in the Text field on the left does not exist: the .exe file is frozen.
I had “C:\Program Files (x86)\PowerArchiver” but my PA is installed in C:\Program Files\PowerArchiverThanks for the quick fix.
-
Yeap, I confirm fix, - PA works now !
Thanks for the fast responce :)
