if no folder or basically nothing is entered in the folder box then an error message gets displayed, that does not tell me anything. the message should say no flder has been selected or entered.
when will this be fixed

Well, I have Zip archive open in PA and then choose extract

• In order to empty box, delete the contents of the “Extract To” box
• Press Extract

I do not get an error message.
Nothing is extracted (as expected).

Same for “Selected Files” and for “All Files”.
What error message are you seeing?

When you press the arrow, you are requesting that the extraction folder display opens to show that folder and subfolders.

Requesting Folder/SubFolder display of “nothing” does indeed give an Access violation.

It does the same if a non-existing path is entered - try deleting the contents and then enter
‘davidsplash\wants to\press the arrow now’
and then press the arrow :p

I guess you right, PA shouldn’t cause the Access violation - but I think the “error” that caused it should be fairly obvious. :D

I feel badly that we didn’t catch that in the alpha/beta testing. That’s definitely a problem that hopefully will be fixed soon.

dont feel bad, cant catch them all… 9.5 was the best major release we had in the history, no real problems as of yet…

Technically, as davidsplash is an alpha tester, you could say that we did. It was just reported a little later than expected :p

to end this discussion so everyone can get on with testing pa and making it better. In truth you never need to do the thing i did. I just happened to try it, but i bet you no one thught that would be a bug as no one would ever do this precedure.

Alpha testers get a lot of the bugs but can not always get all as some are accidently added to the final version as is the case with all software on the market.
