    Missing Icons
    LuxorL

Just tried using the Modern (Windows 10) Icon set and seeing a few missing icons in both PowerArchiver Burner and PowerArchiver Encryption screens . They are all there in the Minimalistik icon set and the only difference I can see is the former is blue and the latter grey. In version 22.00.9

    BigMikeB

    Hi there,

there were some security issues fixed in 7zip:
    https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1165/
    https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1164/

As it seems, that PowerArchiver and PACL use the 7zip libraries, could you please update them to the latest version?

    Hi,

From where I get PAVD2023.EXE? PowerArchiver 2023 tries to open it.
But it seems, it tries to download PAVD2021.EXE.

    Thanks

    Better ZPAQ support
    W

I noticed that the version of ZPAQ used is older than the latest released 7.15 https://mattmahoney.net/dc/zpaq.html also there seems to be a newer fork that adds several features https://github.com/fcorbelli/zpaqfranz

It would be useful to implement this latest version (it also maintains the same syntax and behavior as the latest official release if used the -715 flag) and add when opening a zpaq file a choice of the version of the files to show (e.g. as dummy folders represented the various versions present). Since any previous changes are stored with this format, it is possible to extract a snapshot of a certain date/version.

    Bug with "Encrypt Archive" action
    W

If I open a password-protected zipper file (created with WinRAR but I think that’s irrelevant), open it with PowerArchiver and run “Remove Encryption” on the same file, then reopen it and add a password with “Encrypt Archive,” the resulting archive will be protected with the old ZipCrypto algorithm and not AES as indicated.
(this can be verified, for example, by trying to open the archive files with Windows Explorer, which does not support the AES algorithm)

PA 21.00.18 Action / Test behaves oddly for me on .PA files
    Brian GregoryB

PA 21.00.18 running on Windows 7 64 bit.
I made a big .PA file and thought I’d check it was made correctly with Menu / Actions / Test.
    Discovered:
    a) PA always issues a UAC prompt to do this!
    b) PA always says there are many errors in PA files.

      Problem/error seen in PA v. 9.00.33….Backup Express running on XP-Home SP1/(2)

Setting up a PBS to backup two folders i.e. “c:\Documents and settings\Folder1” and “c:\Documents and settings\Folder2” does not result in any archive-file (both folders contain several files and sub-folders) .

By adding one more folder to the backup-list - named without any spaces i.e. “c:\Folder3” - the problem/error does not occur and ALL expected files from …\Folder1, …\Folder2 & Folder3 are added to the archive :D

(Settings: include subfolders & store relative folder)

Using a dummy-folder & -file makes it work for me - but -…please, corrigate in new versions

        Works for me !?

        Win2k - PA 09.00.34 test.

If you want to check - link to the test version is in thread :-
        http://www.powerarchiver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108

If there is still a problem, rename the pbs file to txt and attach it (as I did here).

Inspired by TBGBe’s PBS-file, I have tried using BH in stead of ZIP as archive-format and that makes the difference between :) (BH) and  (ZIP).

Both of the attached PBS-files works with BH and only one with ZIP (PA v. 9.00.34)

            Interesting.
Tried again (now on Win98 though so may be different) - Zip fails IF the option “Add timestamp to backup” is selected.
Turn this option off and I think the pbs works.

OK - Now back on Win2k

Here it appears that the “problem” occurs with the Store Relative Folder setting
                  Active - Fails
                  Not Active - Succeeds

(TimeStamp setting does NOT matter) ?!

Maybe there is also a Op Sys difference?

Both (Win 2k) pbs in attachment.

I have tried without activating “Store relative folder” - and IT WORKS (= as seen on Win2K) :)

adding timestamp does’nt matter on XP either (= as seen on Win2K) :)

=> Problem only occur with the combination of “path with spaces” & “Store relative folder” & “archive to ZIP” & running on Win2K or XP (Winver. 5)

                    PA 9.00.34

                        Hi,

please check it with 9.00.35 release:
                        http://www.powerarchiver.com/test/powarc90035.exe

And make sure you test it a bit so there are no other issues.

                        thanks,

                          Checked 9.00.35 on Win98.

Using Zip_NOT_OK.pbs as supplied by FredeFup (just changed C: to D: ) :D
PBS now works with both “Add timestamp to backup” and “Store Relative Folder” Active.
