I’m looking forward to deploying PowerArchiver 2023 to my users. Can you tell us when the MSI will be available for download and distribution?
Thanks.
Just tried using the Modern (Windows 10) Icon set and seeing a few missing icons in both PowerArchiver Burner and PowerArchiver Encryption screens . They are all there in the Minimalistik icon set and the only difference I can see is the former is blue and the latter grey. In version 22.00.9

Hi there,
there were some security issues fixed in 7zip:
https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1165/
https://www.zerodayinitiative.com/advisories/ZDI-23-1164/
As it seems, that PowerArchiver and PACL use the 7zip libraries, could you please update them to the latest version?
Hi,
From where I get PAVD2023.EXE? PowerArchiver 2023 tries to open it.
But it seems, it tries to download PAVD2021.EXE.
Thanks
I noticed that the version of ZPAQ used is older than the latest released 7.15 https://mattmahoney.net/dc/zpaq.html also there seems to be a newer fork that adds several features https://github.com/fcorbelli/zpaqfranz
It would be useful to implement this latest version (it also maintains the same syntax and behavior as the latest official release if used the -715 flag) and add when opening a zpaq file a choice of the version of the files to show (e.g. as dummy folders represented the various versions present). Since any previous changes are stored with this format, it is possible to extract a snapshot of a certain date/version.
If I open a password-protected zipper file (created with WinRAR but I think that’s irrelevant), open it with PowerArchiver and run “Remove Encryption” on the same file, then reopen it and add a password with “Encrypt Archive,” the resulting archive will be protected with the old ZipCrypto algorithm and not AES as indicated.
(this can be verified, for example, by trying to open the archive files with Windows Explorer, which does not support the AES algorithm)
PA 21.00.18 running on Windows 7 64 bit.
I made a big .PA file and thought I’d check it was made correctly with Menu / Actions / Test.
Discovered:
a) PA always issues a UAC prompt to do this!
b) PA always says there are many errors in PA files.
Beta key

Why is there not any Beta key? I really not like to purchase a key only to beta test your software.
Yes it works without the any key, except that you have an annoying popup dialog.
-
For PA 2006 they change te registration system.
If you allready purchard PA in the past you can get it from the shop on this site

Well I just found this software, and I like to give it a try. So I would like to try the beta since the final version don’t support ISO. And I’m not going to purchase a license until I have tried the application.
And in beta software you can often find a beta key, that works during the beta period.
So you don’t have limited/stript version and no annoying stuff -
the beta will function as a trial.
-
All functions are working as in purchased version. No limited-stript version. You can fully test ISO stuff without key.

Yep, as I stated in earlier post everything works fine except… enter license key popup everytime I use the application. That is why I asked if there was any BETA key. So I don’t see this everytime.
I now know that there is not a BETA key, so I leave it as it is, no more questions about this. :)

if you buy a beta version you buy a full versiopn to the next version of pa.
Just remember that.
just remember the only archiver i pay for is powerarchiver as its the best and needs supporting thats why beta is the same as full version.
-
I would never buy a license for any software that I’m beta testing, unless I know it’s right for me.

So wait for the final release and then download it’s trial version, test it for 30 days and then decide if you want to buy it…
-
Yes. That is what I’m planing to do, if this application works like it should. But my question from start was if there was any beta key, so I did not have to click on the “enter license key” popup

thats would mean you have the software for free and rememberthe software is shareware

*** A BETA Key, during the BETA Test period. ***
Not for life. Unless you like to give me a key like that :)
EDIT: If I would like to not pay for the software, I can use a “internet key” (key found on the webb) Thats not the case here.

No, you can’t. There is no key on the web for PA 2006 (at least now)

Hehe I see that you have search for a key. Well I have not, I just assumed that there was keys on the web. Anyhow can we drop this issue now? I know that there is not any BETA key from you guys, and I also now know that there is no keys on the web ;)

Yes, i did. But I don’t need it - I have a license…

reason we never have special free beta keys is that a. our software is always fully functional, b. our beta’s are very usable, so there wouldnt be many reasons to actually purchase PA :-))).
Anyway, I think this got settled, final is out soon and this thread is cllllooooooseeeed! thanks.
