Archive Converter
-
The Archive Converter hangs at the very end and won’t close when archiving files over 300 mb.
I’ve tried it with zip, 7zip and bh (of course).I am using 9.50.22 beta 3 version on Windows XP Home Edition.
Terry, can you verify?
Also, there’s a typo in Options – Configuation – Compress and Encrypt.
 Power Archiver is spelled wrong. -

Sorry not sure.

Converted to BH 433 MB (454,122,161 bytes) ;)Three mpgs 1.29 GB (1,387,196,368 bytes)
Compressed to Zip 1.22 GB (1,320,988,567 bytes)
Converted to BH 1.22 GB (1,319,379,023 bytes) ;)Then as a serious test I used four folders of “XBMC_src-v1.1.0”
see http://www.powerarchiver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1144Uncompressed - 23036 Files/2108 Folders 741 MB (778,016,304 bytes)
Compressed to Zip 328 MB (343,985,862 bytes)
Converted to BH 333 MB (349,600,346 bytes)P.S. Converted to Bzip2 301 MB (315,739,080 bytes) :D
Unless you are referring to the Archiver Converter Dialogue remaining open after the “Conversion Complete” dialogue. Thus you need to also press Close button. Not sure if this is a “hang” or if it is intentional (to read throught the log if required).
By the way, what is the OK button in the Archiver Converter Dialogue used for

This I can confirm.

Today, trying the converter with the very same files as before, it works 3 out of 4 times.
I wonder if my antivirus program is tying things up? Well, I’ll work with it for a while. Anyway, thanks again, Terry! -
OK, no problem.
Edit: except for the spelling mistake
-
While we’re on the topic of the archive converter, can’t you guys make it so that once the archive is converted, the archive converter dialog is closed automatically, instead of us having to manually click on close all the time.
-
i like it open as i have to convert several archives at opnce and don’t want a batch conversion
-
Well, how about we have an option that asks if we want the Converter Wizard to be closed after operation is complete? That way, it works for both of us.
-
I couldn’t reproduce the converting problem.
Automatic closing we shall make for next release.
Spelling mistake will be fixed for BETA 4.
Thanks!
