UU and XX Encoding Problem. They just won’t decode!
Mime and yenc work fine. -
I just did quick test and it works fine. Can anyone confirm this? Are there are special options?

I encoded a small 7zip and a cab file with Beta 5. PA won’t open them. I’d send it along but it doesn’t have the proper extension.

I took a 7zip archive, encoded it to UU. and then zipped it so that I could send it to you.
I can’t get it to decode, and I can reproduce this with other files.

I attempted to open the test zip file, which I could open it, but when it came to open the 7zip file (bathroom something) it would not open it.
Using PA 2006 beta 5

Here is a Microsoft Works Word Processor file compressed by PA with 7zip. Try encoding it to either uu or xx, then try to open it in PA’s main window. It will show the 7zip file, but does nothing when you click on it to open it.
If I try the same thing, and in the same manner, with an mp3 file, the 7zip will open. Could this be connected to text files compressed with 7zip, or is it just coincidence?

I was able to reproduce the problem.
I downloaded the file that was 7zip
I went to tools UUencode
It creates the file
I open the file and see the 7zip file inside the UUencoded file
PA does nothing with the file when I double click on it and I get an error when I try to drag it to the desktop.
I have the same results for XXencode.
MIME and yENC both work just fine.

Thanks!
The issue should be fixed in Final Beta.
