Compression Profiles - TAR
-
When creating a new profile for TAR format it is possible to choose compression Bzip.
However, this doesn’t appear to do anything?
Re-open Profile window and this profile format is still TAR.Trying Shell -> compress to TAR
Output file is still a normal TAR and not compressed.Should the compression options be disabled
or should the compression format be saved:confused:

You say :Output file is still a normal TAR and not compressed.
Why is TAR not compressed?? It is even a compression format, isnt it??
-
not really…it’s more, lets say, a way to put a folder with its content, in a single file…at least, that’s what I use tar for when I’m working into a Linux environment…
when you say bz or gz then yes, they’re compressed.

I can set the profile (TAR + BZip2).
This compression format setting is now saved correctly. Also, selecting TAR+Options from shell, this is the default format.
