UAC prompt activating on PA startup
-
Just posting to say the issue with PA doing something to cause a UAC prompt on my system is still present. I managed to turn secure desktop off with the prompt making it slightly less annoying, but it’s still there. Is there a possibility of sending me some sort of debug build to track this down, if it’s not too difficult/time consuming that is?

Mostly just the support system, though we have posted back and forth about it on another thread I started in Tech Support about a different issue.

moved it here so it is more noticable…

Has there been any progress on this issue by chance?

I have attached a zip file full of registry exports relating to the class id mentioned in the erroneous UAC dialog, {6BCFB187-C1DD-4807-96AD-F91AB4AB08AC}. The occurrences of this in the registry generally go with PAUAC.DLL and MyPrivilegedObject. I don’t know if this will aid in discovering a solution or not. But since the keys seem to be relevant I will take a stab in the dark and post them.

Great. Just great. I should never have given up on this and tried Peazip. At least I think that is what might have messed me up. That or I deleted something from the registry I shouldn’t have. Peazip is definitely not as good as this program, so I ran it alongside- using Peazip for some things, PA 2011 for other things that didn’t require opening the main PA window. Fed up with Peazip, I uninstalled it and PA 2011 so I could go back to PA 2010 as my sole archiver. Only, now I am having the same problem with PA 2010 as with 2011! What is going on?? Sigh. PA 2010 only prompt once whereas 2011 prompts three times, but even once is more than enough.
I am going to try something and if it doesn’t work it looks like I will have to begrudgingly abandon PA completely until some issue forces me to reinstall Windows 7- that would have to work, but reinstalling to solve this issue would just be crazy. Wonderful program, but this issue has been driving me nuts. Thanks for a good program, sorry you haven’t been able to figure this one out.

Sorry, I’ve been a bit busy with work and things the last few days. It does indeed start up now without issues. Thanks for all the work on this, and I expect I will be purchasing the toolbox version, or whatever it is called (I can’t remember), soon now.
PS- ah, I see I wasn’t alone in this- I just saw the new (solved) thread from another user. I had been wondering if it was something I caused. Well, it’s over now, doesn’t matter anymore- thanks again.
Edit: I guess I should ask- will I be able to use this fixed version with the toolbox? I see that the toolbox still shows as the initial 12.00 release. Can I buy it and then install this over it?

Hi, Once you purchase Toolbox edition! which is great by the way! Download the latest available version and enter the serial key, this then unlocks the Toolbox features.
If you have any issues, just ask here or send the conexware team an email.

great… that was first report after yours of something similar… of course there is always possibility of people not reporting it :-).
I am glad we solved it. Thanks for being our customer.
As to the Toolbox, you can use registration key on version you got from us. Thanks!

Actually, what I meant about the toolbox is related to this issue. The toolbox is several months old so I was asking if I buy the toolbox, will I be forced to use that old version of PA that will throw up the UAC prompts, or can I use this fixed version instead alongside the other parts of the toolbox? I may not be understanding how the toolbox works so if this sounds like a silly question…
