I had a large .tar file (a backed up WSL) and I want to delete a few directories and their contents from it using PA2023.
PA just destroys the whole archive as soon as I try to delete a directory, leaving it in a state where PA2023 won’t even open it any more.
I tried several times and also tried compressing it to .tar.xz instead - same result. This should either actually work, or it should say operation not supported and do nothing.

@Brian-Gregory I’ve managed to get in touch with Ivan, the main developer. See https://forums.powerarchiver.com/topic/6661/news-update-on-powerarchiver-connexion-in-2024. Hopefully things will start to happen on the forum again.

Hey @Brian-Gregory
Tested this issue but could not reproduce unfortunately.
How large was the archive? There is a process of updating that occurs when deleting a folder from an archive, was it possibly interrupted?
I have logged the issue in the bug system for Ivan to look at and try to reproduce or enhance the process if possible.
Thanks for letting us know, update coming soon

How large was the archive? The .tar was probably >40GiB.
And of course it was effectively made on Linux. There is a process of updating that occurs when deleting a folder from an archive, was it possibly interrupted?
I’ll see if I can try again.
