PA should work better now and not ask for associations each time, in version .42

We have been investigating this issue as it is specific and does not occur for everyone.
Are there any other software installed that could be associating itself with the same files as PowerArchiver?
That might help us in our investigation as we can then test out the specifics.
Sorry for the frustration, we’re looking to fix this asap.Let us know if there is any other software installed on that machine that might associate itself with same files as PA and we will test, that will provide assistance to our dev team in solving it.
Thanks!

today i updated the power archiver version to 19.00.39 version but my problem is not solved. My temporary problem is solved by this method. Go to option->file formats and check the show associate window if … and restart the power archiver. After restart it shows a message for file association and in that dialogue uncheck all users and check the never ask and most important press no button. After this steps it can not shows uac screen.

When I upgraded from .41 to .43 using patch beam the prompt to associate came back and would not go away until I ticked the box to say not to ask again.

thanks @Brian-Gregory
looking into it and just to confirm, after clicking the “do not ask again” box, the association box did not come up again? -

that is super annoying.
Do you have patience to uncheck some of the associations in associate window so we can figure out what association causes it?
thank you!

If you don’t mind, please send over your reg settings, zipped, to support at conexware dot com
We will apply them and see if we can reproduce it now that it’s happening again. You can export your reg settings from the Configuration button dropdown, save settings to, save settings to file.
thanks for your help!

Thanks very much!
We have implemented the sent reg file which imported your exact settings. Unfortunately, the issue did not reproduce.
Could you tell us what other software you might have installed that handles the same files/archives as does PowerArchiver?
There might be an issue with a specific program that is taking over associations that PowerArchiver might not be handling properly.
Please let us know.Thanks again!
-
Hello,
In order to answer to your question, no other software handling the same files as PowerArchiver.
Interesting point:
If I install PowerArchiver 2018 : everything is fine
If I install PowerArchiver 2019 the problem exists
PS: I have installed the latest version of PowerArchiver 2019.Thank you

@wroustan can you please send us this complete key:
Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTjust make sure you compress it with .pa format first, so it gets to reasonable size.
That way we check with your own associations and see which one is causing the issue. I tried various ways of associating with both PA 2018 and PA 2019 and couldnt get them to misbehave.
thank you!

I have the same problem.

How can I download this file? When I try to open the link I get this page:

@Merowinger That’s where you end up when the file doesn’t exist.
I did download that file while it still existed so I can tell that what they have done is delete the original powarc190047.exe and rennamed powarc190047-1.exe as powarc190047.exe.
So if you redownload https://powerarchiver.cachefly.net/2019/powarc190047.exe you’ll probably get the file you’re after. -
Thank you, now it works! The message is gone.
