Unsolved Removing virtual drives
-
Hi,
Removing virtual drives by using the right-click menu item sometimes does not work. I have to load PA and go into the burner section and do it from there.
Not much more to add other than that really. Please let me know how to get some more useful info to you.
Cheers

The above was in Windows 8.1 x64.
I had to work in Win 7 x64 on the same PC and found the virtual drives system flaky to the point of being unusable. This win 7 install is not the one I had problems with in the past. This one is a recent vanilla install. It was virtually impossible to create any virtual drives. I used both the context menus and the functionality within PA. On occasions where I did create one drive and tried to create another, I just got an installing driver window that did not succeed to install any drivers. I ended up burning DVDs.If you want me to troubleshoot this, please let me know exactly what you want me to do. I can provide screenshots and screencasts. I backup daily so can do any risky stuff you like.
Cheers

hey @drteeth
When you right click an ISO and select Unmount, what happens?
The VD dialog should appear with the mounted drive showing, select the drive and click start and it should be unmounted.
It seems fine in our tests, but I will check it on W8 also. -
Hi Mili,
If I do that, the drive remains. After multiple tries, usually by abandoning the context menu and opening PA and doing it from there.

thanks, charging up the W8 test machine to check it out and will report back with test results

Mili,
I can test on both Win 7 and Win 8.1 here and can provide videos of the issues. I am very surprised that a clean install of Win 7 has such problems.

apologies for the wait, I was finally able to test on W8x64 and it worked fine.
Mounting and unmounting via shell extensions did not show any irregularities.
Right click on the ISO>Unmount brought up the Remove VD dialog, selected the mounted ISO, clicked Start and ISO was removed instantly.Maybe try reinstalling the VD drivers? Delete pavd2018.exe from the installation folder and run VD from the Burner tab in PowerArchiver. You’ll then have to download the VD drivers again and those will be the latest. Does that help?

Hi there. I was using the latest drivers anyway, but did what your suggested and redownloaded them. No change. Right-clicking Unmount did not work but working in PA’s burner section, the unmount did.

PS Worse issues in new install of Win 7 x64 as mentioned above.
