Unsolved Slow drawing of main window.

i see painting/color change sometimes when using classic toolbar skins. I went back to .53 and it was the same… I will try some other versions too.
But I never see scroll bar changing position like in your screenshot.
Can you save your settings first via regedit. And then reset to default via Options>?
Lets see if some option changes something.
Thanks!

Reset to default and the window is empty when it starts, as expected. No issue there.
Changed my startup folder to my preferred folder and changed display style to “Explorer with Folders” selected only. Also changed my skin to my preferred Nightrider skin.
Those are the only changes I made to the default.
Closed and then restarted PA, same issue with the with that slowness to draw/paint the window.

Try defaults with just skin? Maybe something due to the startup folder?

Defaults with skin - All OK
Defaults + skin + Change display style to.
The problem arises.
Looks at that point as if “Explorer with Folders” is the problem.
More testing…
If I select “Explorer Display Style” along with my preferred startup folder, I get a noticable flash of white in some areas of the window where the toolbars appear.
I’ve seen similar before on the test dialogue where the progress bar appears, when testing a large archive. Was never fast enough to catch a screenshot of it though.
Maybe a combination of Explorer with Folders and my preferred startup folder is too much for those skins.

In the latest build 18.00.58 I’m noticing that the contents of the main window is a bit slow on loading. It’s not a great amount of time, milliseconds to be honest and has taken me ages to catch a screenshot of it, but it is noticeable.
Not an issue if I use “Classic Simple” skin.
HUGE Confirmed with Quartz Violet skin!
Turning OFF Folders Bar fixes it but the situation is unacceptable -

ah, i get it… it is when it loads contents of hdd, together with custom skin and icons. Since scrollbar is custom painted + it waits for listing of default folder, you get that effect.
I will check if we can improve this. I dont think it was any different in previous builds.

In previous builds I’ve never seen the scroll bar out of position like it is in this build.
If it did occur it was obviously too fast for my old eyes to pick up on it. ;) -

I wrote it in… thanks!
