ZIP move action to different drive does not move the files
-
I have been recently creating a few archives by moving files into the archive. On the same disk, it works as expected in that the archive is created and no files outside the archive remain.
If I create an archive on D: from files on C:, and move them, the archive is created and the files remain (as if I had added them). This is not the expected behaviour for a move operation.
Is this a bug or by design?
Cheers

drteeth,
It seems to be more specific as we just tested it and it worked.
So let us know what kind of compression did you use and how many files, what sizes? What drive letters?
thanks!

Hi,
The same files and the same compression options were used in both cases; please see attachments.
The move operation works when the achieve is created in the home folder (C:\extract), but not when the archive was created on the D: drive.
I have uploaded the 3 files in question to www.drteeth.co.uk/pa for your convenience.
If this does not help you I will double-check, even though I am sure I did before posting.

can you also send your .reg file, reference this thread, to support at conexware, so team can check it out as well… Neither me or Ivan could reproduce it, so it has to be something little bit more specific. Thanks.

Sent as CAB as per previous requests.

tried Moving to D drive here as well, as well as an external drive and the files from C are always moved.
Same while using your settings as well….hmmm, will try on different machines -
Hi,
I just checked things again this end and all worked well. I do not know what happened…cosmic rays, yet another ‘senior moment’ etc.
Apologies for the inconvenience, but thanks for being there.
