Error When Checking For Updates
-
When i click on the help icon then check for updates, it crashes with 3 dialogs displaying the same error message.
I have updated to the latest version of PA, 16.00.61 so not sure what the problem is. I am using Windows 7 64-bit, if that helps. Here is a link to my dxdiag log. Thanks,

Ok, please let me know so that I may assist you. Just an update the problem still persists and now the error continuously pops up until the patcher is forced close. It still happens even when run as administrator is selected. If it helps this occurred when I updated from the final version of PB 2015(2015 15.04.03) to PB 2016(16.00.61). Should I try reverting back to PB 2015(15.04.03)?

Any updates on this? I’m seeing the same issue when trying to update PowerArchiver 16.00.69 on Windows 7 64-bit; I’ve had to download and install the recent updates manually since PatchBeam is failing.
-
Hi, by any chance did you use uninstaller software of any kind to uninstall PowerArchiver/Patchbeam previously?
Thanks!
-
I don’t think I uninstalled PA or PatchBeam via a third-party tool at any point, but I’ll try a full uninstall/re-install today to see whether that fixes my issue.
Thanks!

I uninstalled PA, deleted the C:\Program Files (x86)\PowerArchiver directory, and removed all “PowerArchiver” keys and values from my registry, then re-installed PA 16.00.69. I’m still seeing the exception message when I check for updates.

thanks for the info, are you using an anti virus software as well? if so, which one?

I have Trend Micro OfficeScan Antivirus - it’s work-installed and I can’t remove or disable it (not that I want to).
But I’ve had that antivirus program for a long time, and didn’t see this problem with PowerArchiver 2015, so I’m wondering what’s changed.

Thanks! Will check, just in case, if the AV is the culprit.

update:
we will create a debug version of PowerArchiver that we’ll send you to try out, it will tell us more about why the error is occuring.thanks!
-
We have created a debug version of Patchbeam for PowerArchiver.
Here it is;http://www.powerarchiver.com/test/release16/patchbeam-debug.7z
Inside the 7z file is patchbeam.exe, please replace it with the standard Patchbeam.exe that is located in one the following folders
C:\Program Files (x86)\PowerArchiver\PatchBeam
or
C:\Program Files\PowerArchiver\PatchBeamOnce error appears, there should be a full logging system in there. You will be able to email us a full log (copy to clipboard for instance) with all the info for us to trace the error).
You can email it to support at conexware dot com
Thanks for your help!
