[16.00.43] can't extract archives with japanese characters
-
So I just installed the new public rc and tried to extract some archives I have. The new release creates only empty folders with some mangled characters when extracting through the context menu. Opening the archive directly and drag’n dropping the contents works normally.

This happens with only one archive so far.regards gilic

can you please send us that archive to support at conexware dot com. That way we can check with exactly the same archive.
thank you!

I don’t have problems with that. I have just tried to extract .rar and .zip files with both japanese characters in filename of the archive and in files inside the archive and it worked correctly.

there is usually something more specific with the archive itself, otherwise someone would have caught it before. But once we have archive, with maybe some settings to help, we should be able to make it work (reproduce)

spwolf I’ve send a mail to your support account.

の怖.zip -> access violationi have responded to the ticket, but lets put it here as well. Please send us your settings in .reg.cab file to make sure we can test with exactly the same settings.
I have tried it on my standard Win10 x64 and all shell functions worked fine, extract to filename\ as well as extract here. It could be some specific option triggering this.
thank you!

thanks, figured it out - to reproduce, language for non-unicode programs has to be set to japanese… logging it in.
