.bz2 bug?
-
I downloaded PCBSD9.0-x64-VBOX.vdi.bz2, a Virtual Box image. The link is http://ftp.heanet.ie/mirrors/pcbsd/9.0/amd64/PCBSD9.0-x64-VBOX.vdi.bz2
When I tried to open the archive with PA (win 7 x64), it just hung/froze. The same file presented no problem to 7-ZIP (64 bit) and I was able to extract the actual VDI file.
Why was this? Was the file size too much for a 64 bit program?
Thanks

nothing to do with 64bit, we will check it out… probably something due to the name or something weird like that.
you can open or create unlimited sized archives in PA… 10000 TB :-).
64bit is only for using more than 4GB of RAM, and no compression program uses that much… even 7z at highest uses only 760 MB or so.

just tested this……
when i used right click options to extract the file, it worked great, extracted all 8 gigs properly.trying to open it via main PA, renamed to .bz2 and .tar.bz2 and it did not work.

Do all the languages get installed or can I select the one that I use?
Cheers,

languages are small, there is no problem there.

It depends on how obsessive one is about keeping a PC lean ;). Installing the beta now. Did not see any option about choosing languages. Which are the files for language files for English (preferably UK English if I have a choice) or is that the default language?
Will report back when I have downloaded the archive.
Issue fixed, many thanks.
