Hi Maulinwolf,
Is this archive a large extact when complete? It could be possible where you are extracting it is low on available storage hense the error.
Try, downloading ccleaner and runing a full clean then restart the drive or system you are wanting to extract this archive to.
If you know there is enough storage, remove powerarchive run ccleaner and use the registry clean aswell. Restart and then download the latest version from this site.
If you are still experiencing issues after that it is possible there maybe an issue with the archive and not pa or your system.

there is more then enough room to extract the file. and as i stated if i extract by opening power archiver first i can extract just fine. its when i use the right click and tell it to extract to here with the folder name of the file i get the error… well any of the first four options of the right click menu return that same error. any help would be appreciated
-
Does the archive contain a single file, multiple files or file(s) and folder(s)?
Sounds like a permissions problem.
When you used PowerArchiver to extract, was it in the same disk/folder? -
;-) were just ticking all those boxes of errors we as testers have experienced.
-
it contains 2 files but spanned across many parts. and yes when i extracted via opening the program i extracted it to the same folder i would have by right click and telling it to extract. i have never had this issue with powerarchiver before and have only had it after the windows 7 upgrade… if it is a permission issue i cant figure it out because i can extract and write files to the folder just fine. it is just when i right click the first part of the archive and try to tell it to extract i get the error. again any help would be appreciated. thank you for all the responses.

Based on what you are saying it could be two things.
1. An issue with the actual spanned archive
2. An issue with PowerArchiver when dealing with that particular spaned archive.
I hate to suggest this but have to tried extracting this with the same method using another brand ie trial of Winzip, winrar etc.
See if those alternatives work just fine… If thats the case then PA’s developers can address it.
-
Power archived handles the spanned archive just fine. And there uare no errors with it. The no space write error only shows up when I right click the first part and pick "extract to " any of the four options it lists there. If I open the file in power archived then extract I don’t have the error. I am used to right clicking and selecting extract to folder “file name” . Any help will be appreciated

What version of PowerArchiver are you using?
-
i am using 2011. 12.00.41 is the version number.
-
did you possible install new PA in different folder or something similar? Did you reboot after installation?
it seems as if old shell dll is still in there causing issues.
-
i uninstalled and reinstalled and rebooted after installation. i am still getting errors. i have not installed to a new folder i have just installed to same folder.
any help would be appreicated.
still having same problem. every time i open powerarchiver it asks if its ok for the application to change things on pc. i can open and extract files via the program i just cant right click and say extract to … etc. -
does it happen with all archives or just some of them? What formats did you try?
thanks!
-
i reinstalled and i am still having the same issue. and it is for all archives. i can extract if i open program but i cant right click first file in spanned archive and select “extract to” without it telling me i don’t have permission or directory is full. Any help would be appreciated
-
i know this may sound silly but have you installed anything else recently maybe another installation has corrupted your system
-
so it happens with any zip, 7zip, rar, iso, etc file?
any compressed file at all?and for both compress and extract?
-
i have uninstalled and reinstalled. i installed 7zip and its right click menu works fine no issues… i only get the issues with the right click menu of powerarchiver
-
it happens for all formats
-
I sounds like your shell extensions are corrupt. Either fix hem or it could be a permission thing on your pc. you need to check that there is not a program on your computer that blocks certain file actions. You should also uninstall powerarchiver with revo uninstall highest option and reinstall powerarchiver and then tell us if that has fixed your problems

does it happen if you extract anywhere or some folders? For instance, copy one zip file to desktop and use Extract here… does that work?
-
you are using latest version now, right?
-
This seems a pritty unique and rare case, sounds very much system specififc.
Before you download the most up to date version fo PowerArchiver. Try uninstalling PowerArchiver and all of its plugins ie Patchbeam, POAP etc. Then delete the containing folders if they still exist;
“C:\Program Files\PowerArchiver”
“C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ConeXware\PowerArchiver”
Download CCleaner and run a full clean include registry clean.
Restart your system.
Create a brand New Profile, install PowerArchiver on that profile.
Does it work? if it does flick over to your existing old profile and register PowerArchiver as you would normally.
Does it work?
I think there is a profile specific issue causing you a problem. if it works on a brand new profile where PA has never before been installed or existed then all those links will be recreated from scratch , including shell’s and hidden directories.
If you just create a new profile and dont uninstall or clean 1st then those registry links are transfered.
I hope this might help you.

i will try those things and let you know but if i open the file with power archiver then extract it works fine. it is only when you right click the file and select the extract her or to fiel etc that powerarchiver puts there. i installed 7zip and it works fine and its right click options also work. i reinstalled the 1211 version the last time with powerarchiver

try this program to see if the shell extension has been disabled
