Not a valid Win32 application?!?
-
I’ve downloaded and tried Powerarchiver 2011 rc2 for a few days now, and it was great; until yesterday.
After installing windows 7 service pack 1 I get this message whenever I try to run the program: “Exception EOleSysError in module POWERARC.EXE at 000AF291. %1 is not a valid Win32 application”
I tried reinstalling (uninstalling with revo and installing again), stable version & repair installation. Nothing works…
Help?
Edit: I also installed internet explorer 9

maybe it is an issue with AV? What AV do you use?
We have Win7 SP1 installed everywhere, it shouldnt be related to that.
-
Norton 360
-
maybe it is some other software that piggybacks to other executables on computer? does everything else work properly?
-
I’m not sure, but I think the “is not a valid Win32 application” error can arise when a 32-bit process tries to load a 64-bit DLL.
Maybe something (COM registration, path ordering, ???) has changed to cause this kind of situation.

I haven’t encountered any other issues, if that’s what you’re asking?
-
if you right click on powerarc.exe and go to properties> digital signature - is the signature still valid and not broken?
-
“This digital signature is OK”

seen this before download malawarebytes and update it to the latest updates and run a full scan or run spybot another program. It seems to be a spyware.
Or
It would be a faulty download try again this time with opera browser
-
Tried both, still does not work.
-
Found another issue. When trying to upload files to web pages i can’t navigate the explorer window. Both the sidepanel and adress bar dissapears.
EDIT: Sorry about the double post, got a bit carried away.
EDIT AGAIN: Sorry, that seems to be a problem with my browser. -
hm… maybe update gone bad?
-
Like Windows update?
-
if you have a back up of your files i would suggest a total reinstall of windows
-
I uninstalle the service pack and now it works fine. Thanks =)

maybe try installing again? maybe just something went wrong the first time around… we all have SP1 and nobody reported such issue.
