Paop

I just saw the second half of your request.
It compressed the files just fine. Well, that’s now quite right. It compresses PDF files just fine; balks a bit at docx files.
-
There is an filter setting which by default doesnt compress docx (as docx are zip files so they cant be compressed futher).
-
(it is exclude extensions button in PAOP)
-
Received the reg file, thanks for that.
tested with sent reg settings and received the help file just fine using Paop.
Have you installed and tried using the beta version provided earlier?
the help file is simply attached to the email, when acitavated, when PAOP is used.
If you think it could possible make a difference, try disabling EZDetach and see if it works then, just for testing purposes. -
I am using the latest PAOP beta you send (perhaps 2.1?).
As I explained, there is no way to disable EZDetach and I cannot afford to uninstall it and lose all the scripts I have written for it.
But (I now realize) I really shouldn’t have mentioned this. It’s a red herring. It only affects incoming files, and I later saw that the attachment wasn’t there in the outgoing file.
I will just do without.
Sorry for the hassle.

sorry hugh, i guess it is always easier to blame something else :-)

One thing we like is for users to mention things, even if it becomes a dead link! because it might just spark a future feature or solution, not to mention something who may experience similar issues can read this and get the answer they may need.

I ended up uninstalling PAOP.
I discovered something that may be worrisome.
I use Office 2007. When PAOP was installed, Outlook would lock up (“Not responding”) 2-3 times a day. It never occurred to me that PAOP was the culprit.
However, it has not happened once since I deleted PAOP.
I may just be lucky. Or perhaps PAOP does have some untoward side effects on Outlook 2007.
Sorry.

it could be combination of plugins… PAOP has been used for years now, never got that complaint.
what other plugins do you use (other than ezdetach)? We will try to install them on our Win7 with Office 2007 and see what happens.
