What do you mean?

I am befuddled.
I explained precisely what the problem was: I cannot open multiple files within an archive at once. You claimed in any earlier that you could do it. Tell me how. No need to get snarky.
As for the other fellow’s comments, his point, I assume, is that if you are sloppy with your web site, then you are probably sloppy with your software.
I may give PA a run again some months down the road. At the moment, I think not. Having two lifetime licenses of PA it is bordering on the insane to pay WZ’s inflated price every year or so. However, I would rather have a reliable product . . . and I would rather have service from folks who are not quite so defensive.

you need to send us example archive and tell us what kind of editor you are opening your files with so we can try to do exactly what you are doing. Everything we tried worked. Other users tried it on forums and it worked for them as well. We have requested this last time as well.
How can we know what is your specific situation here?
We do our best here to communicate with our users, i think you are being unfair to us but hey you are customer so it is your right to do so. But if you have an problem, please try explaining it to us better. Currently all we have is “it doesnt work, I will check it next few months to see if it is fixed”.
p.s. as to the website, i think us not updating newsbit on static pages is silly complaint and completely irrelevant considering we are only compression utility that has forums, let alone blogs, twitter and facebook pages. Where else can you post your wishes publicly? where else can you talk to the developers?

also can you please open up new thread in bug reports section? I dont want to move these threads to it so people can follow this conversation as well.

Well I want to apologize :).
First of all sorry for being defensive. We love what we do and this is what we do.
I think both I and Terry tried sequentially opening the files (but still open at the same time) and it worked because this is what we are used to doing ourselves.
Now I see what you wanted to select 5 files and hit open to open them all right away, then edit them all and update them all at the same time.
This was never an feature in PA, we expect people to open them one by one and keep them open if needed. But I see that we also track only one file for editing <runs and=“” covers=“” his=“” head=“” in=“” shame=“”>.
I apologize for misunderstanding. I always try to look at it from perspective of how user is using software so I have failed miserably here :).
Lets see if we can fix and improve this quickly so you do not have to wait for “3-4 months” to check PA again!!!</runs>

This post is deleted! -
so this feature has been implemented in latest PA 2011 Alpha, and all seems to be functioning for now :-).
Let me know if you want to test it out before official release… thank you!
