Problems with tar.gz files in 11.50.23
-
Hi,
since I upgraded to 11.50.23, PA has problems opening tar.gz files.
On my Vista x64 quad-core machine, it shows me a CRC error.
On my XP x86 single-core machine it just hangs up without an error. The error seems to occur turing the .tar phase, so extracting the .gz first seems to work.
This happens with every tar.gz file I’ve tried so far, but opening .zip or .rar still works.
Best regards.
PS: I really love the changes you’ve made in the newest version. Thanks for such an awesome product.

can confirm a problem when opening a tar file…
program just hangs and I have to close it via task manager. -
thanks a lot!

I receive this CRC error too.
Easily reproducable because it happens with every .tar.gz file.

yes, should be fixed in next release! thanks
-
seems to be working fine for me now in 11.50.28
but I have a question regarding the use of .tar and the ‘store’ method.
I tested this option but it didn’t create any file for me even after several attempts. -
yes, we know :-)… thats why .28 was not official.

.30 is up and should be good with tar files…

Please check your issue with latest 11.50.30 release:

working fine for me in 11.50.30
many thanks.

not only that but both compression and decompression of tar.gz/bz2 should be a lot faster now :-)
