2009 B4: PBS Keeps Creating Empty Folders

But why is it necessary to keep creating these folders?
I follow what you mean by a reccomended folder. In that case why cant the reccomended folder simply be documents? Or the last open/saved folder as per preferences? If I create a new archive, sfx etc. PA uses a reccomended folder - but it dosent create new folders.
for backups, reccomended folders are different, so it is easier for people to find and manage their backups.

It took me a while to track down what program kept creating these folders, but I finally discovered it was Powerarchiver. I really do not like this behavior; I don’t even use this program for backups or whatever these scripts are. I just use it to create and extract archives.
I really hate it when programs clutter up my Documents folder. I’m using the latest version, 11.03 but I can’t any way to disable this. I’m just going to go back to using an older version until this is stopped. Please at least give us an option to turn off this feature. :(

so 11.03 is still creating them even if you are not using backup? well that should not happen.

Well it’s not doing it now. I just upgraded to 11.03 so maybe it was created by 11.02 right beforehand and I hadn’t noticed. It seems to be taken care of now though. Thanks for fixing that; it’s hard to keep the clutter out of My Documents anyway so every little bit helps. :)

we were not aware of it creating folders when not using backup, but we did fix something that might be related in 11.03… let us know if few days if they still not appear…

The folders just showed up again when I launched it. I had launched it over and over when I made my last post and it didn’t create the folders, but a few hours have passed and it made them on the first launch this time. It seems to be creating them on a schedule. I deleted the folders and launched it again and this time it didn’t make them, but I suspect if I wait a while again it eventually will.
I don’t know if it matters that I upgraded from 11.02 instead of doing a fresh install of 11.03 but it might be worth mentioning. I’m also running Windows XP SP3.

so folders are still being created? and you have no pbs backup running ever?
It would be much easier if you could just post new post instead of editing old one, since thread does not get an bump when you edit so we didnt know that you replied…
We will check this out for next release!

Since updating to version 11.03.04 the folders have not appeared anymore. :)
