Still virus warning from AVG 8
-
Nope, I still get a warning about PAVD.EXE, and I’m still not able to send the file for analysis.
But as I have the PA folder excluded in AVG it doesn’t bother me to much.
I check from time to time by copying the files to another folder, as I did right now. -
any updates?
-
Checked all PA executables today, PAVD.EXE still gets a warning.
Maybe I should change to another anti-virus program, AVG is not the only free one but I like it.Anyway PA is working very well and I am glad I paid for the pro version. Burning is little bit slow but everything I tried works well.

That’s what I did so I can’t check now.
This “problem” was not the only reason, however, that would be off topic… -
should have been fixed by now?
-
Sorry but no, I still get a warning for PAVD.EXE
Win32/NSAnti
AVG 8.0.169 / Virus DB 270.7.0/1683Latest PA installed.

grrr
-
Looks like PABURNTOOLS.EXE is showing a false positive Again.
-
what about pavd?
-
I’m new to Power Archiver so im using a evaluation copy, so i don’t think i have that file? Wheres it located?
It wouldn’t stop me from buying, but it might to others?
-
it is only for registered users - can someone else chime in for pavd.exe please? I see I need to send them an email again…
-
As to the buying, unfortunatly it is not up to us. If AV company keeps repeating the same mistakes, i think it tells more of their product and question is what else will they get wrong?
-
I’m not getting anything on pavd but paburntools is definitely coming up as infected with Win32/NSAnti. That’s with the latest free version of AVG.
-
thanks, will (once again) email them… anyone else sending report to AVG will be helpful as well.
thanks,
-
Just to confirm “false positive” - it is only AVG reporting problem see

they are month behind on their support emails, we just got back response from them about pavd.exe that was sent in 30 days ago :-)
-
I’m getting this as well. I pay for AVG so should I report this to see if they will fix it for a paying customer? And yes I’m getting it as well.

more reports the better… although it didnt help last time…

I have been in daily contact with them since last week when I reported the problem. Today I have received the confirmation that it will be fixed with the next virus database update.

Oops:
http://www.itworld.com/windows/57647/flawed-avg-antivirus-update-cripples-windows-xp-pcsTheir latest update seems to have indentified some Windows files as false positives, so heads up people who have AVG as your XP will not start anymore :-).
