Files beginning with a period not included in new archive
-
As the subject states, PA refuses to include any files beginning with a period (such as .htaccess , etc ).
I thought this bug was fixed a long time ago ?
-
PACOMP was able to add files beginning with a period.
-
Although PACOMP was able to include the files in an archive, any path that was empty had an additional path created in the archive, that was not on the local system.
These additional paths all had two backslash characters as the path name.
This has been reported as a problem before, see http://www.powerarchiver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2567&highlight=backslash
When is this bug going to be fixed ?
-
so PACL still has that old bug - ok, good to let us know.
as to the .files, let me see what can we do…
-
you tested with PACL 5.00 of course?

Just for clarity, I suppose this is Powerarchiver 10.22?
Is this all formats or specific (Zip, Gzip etc)?
@peterr:PACOMP was able to include the files in an archive, any path that was empty had an additional path created in the archive.
Tried using PACL 5.00 beta 1 (Zip & Gzip), I don’t see the additional path as the empty folders are not stored at all  So again what format(s)?
Note: That previous fix was for PowerArchiver. As you know, PowerArchiver and PACL are two different utilities with different fault reporting/fixing :)

If you see my first post in this thread, you will see it is PA (Powerarchiver, latest version) that cannot add the files beginning with a period.
PACOMP can add them, however it also added the paths beginning with a backslash.
The archives are TAR.GZ

Tried with a ZIP archive, and the files beginning with a period are included. However, a ZIP file is no good to me.

The problem is with Powerarchiver, the latest version, the problem described is “Files beginning with a period not included in new archive”.
This is a PA forum, not a PACL forum. ;)
