How to compress .iso file?
-
When I right click on an .iso file, it doesn’t say compress, only encrypt and extract.
I want to compress a 1.23 GB .iso file to zip. But I find it difficult. Can someone please explain the steps. Thank you.

PowerArchiver considers iso files to be archives, so to have the option to directly “compress”, you need to activate the Shell Extension (Options / Configuration) “Compress to … (for archives)”.
Although, Zip of iso will be slow and may not give good compression.
You should also consider performing “Convert” which extracts from iso and then compresses the actual files - but this depends on your requirement of course. -
That’s another feature I don’t like, iso files are disc images not archives. It’s annoying for them to be treated as such and having to turn on a special context menu to compress them.
-
enable it once and you are done :-).
Whole purpose of PA opening ISO files is so they can be treated as archives and so you can extract files from it, without having to mount it or burn it….

As it is not available via shell - I never noticed that
Should I raise wishlist for shell access (or is it already planned) :D

there was an options for shell “Compress to ISO…”. But because of bug in 11.50 it didn’t show up.
