Right click Extract To
-
I am using Windows Vista. Then I right click on a zip file to extract it to a folder with the same name as the file nothing happens. How do I fix this? I am using the curring version of PA.
-
what is the name of the file?
thanks
-
it is comskip797
-
did you upgrade from another version of PA recently or was it clean install?
-
I upgraded from a previous version.
-
did you restart your computer after installation?
-
Yes I did.
-
I reinstalled pa and I am having the same problem. I am using vista ultimate.
-
I uninstalled pa and restarted the computer. I also downloaded winrar & winzip. Bother of the other programs work with vista. I just right click on the file and select the extraction method. How do I get powerarchiver to work?

what is the name of the archive and the file inside? thanks

I’m also experiencing this problem as well on a clean install for Windows XP. I will right-click any archive to ‘Extract to’ and all it ends up doing is making a blank folder with the same name as the archive. Any ideas?

let me know answer to question above - thanks

It doesn’t really matter what the name of the archive is or its contents’ names. If I right-click extract text.zip… it won’t extract text.doc.
-
what is the exact right click option you use using? Extract to filename\ or?
-
I use the right click extract here and extract to without any problems. I’ve tested with both 7-zip and zip on Vista.
-
have you tried with the 7zip file manager just to make sure it is not a vista fault. just a thought as vista is being updated too regularly and some fixes have make several well known programs not work as they should.

Either ‘Extract here’ or 'Extract to “filename” folder"
By the way, this is on Windows XP Home SP2.
If I click on those options, the extraction dialog pops up and disappears for a split second… but other than that nothing happens.

are you sure it is not really specific? Try creating 1.txt on C:, then compressing it to 1.zip. Then move it to C:\test and click on extract here.
Does it work then?
