PA2007 error on Vista ultimate 32bit
-
I’ve install PA2007 the latest one on my Vista Ultimate 32Bit Machine and after try to run PA, I got this alert massage :
Access violation at address 00885F50 in module ‘POWERARC.EXE’. Read of address FFFFFFFF.
I’ve removed it and back off with no PA stick on my machine. LoL
-
what happens after that? PA just crashes… or continues to work?
-
Hi spy! I’m very sorry to say it’s all my fault. The PA working fine now. The reason is, I didn’t turn off the UAC in the control panel before installing PA.
PA was really great!
-
What exactly was set at UAC so PA would throw an error?
Since you wouldnt usually have to turn off UAC before installing PA?
-
If in this windows vista I turn ‘ON’ the User Account Control (UAC) it wil trow an error when PA trigger after installing it. If I ‘OFF’ the UAC then it won’t trow any error after installing it.
I realised this after several software I installed without ‘OFF’ the UAC and when trigger the software installed it will trow an error. When ‘OFF’ UAC it will be no error when trigger the software after install.

Hey Naruto. I have the same problem you had. I get the exact same error when I start up Power Archiver and then it works fine, but it’s REALLY annoying.
I have Vista Ultimate 64-bit so it’s a little different. I tried what you did and disabled UAC. I even right-clicked the PA installation and chose Run as Administrator, but I still get that error.
Can you please tell me your exact steps to resolving it?
This is what I have done so far.
Installed PA.
Got annoying error.
Uninstalled PA.
Reinstalled PA again selecting (Run as admin option.
Got annoying error again.
Uninstalled PA.
Disabled UAC as you suggested.
Reinstalled PA.
Yet, still the annoying error remains.Naruto if you can help I would appreciate it.

you can send us an support request via support form above… then we can go through process of figuring out why does it happen on your system and then fix it for 10.02 :-).
Sounds a lot better than some workaround to me!
thank you!

OK I submitted the form. When do you think the update will be released?
