Encryption of archive container
-
The thing I don’t care for winzip is that when I encrypt an archive, the file names within the files are visible. I am thinking of trying your product but wanted to know:
-
Are there any archive formats that support encrypting the whole archive without giving away the file name?
-
Are there any archive formats that do a check sum to make sure everything is backed up accurately?
-
Is there a “safest” archive format in case a split archive gets damaged?
Thank you.:)

Yes, the 7zip format does support this. However, it’s not possible with PowerArchiver to use this feature of the 7zip format. You’ll have to use the original 7zip program instead (http://www.7-zip.org).

Yes, you can pae to hide file names, however that feature is not present in the backup as of yet.
