Application Memory Error
-
Can anyone duplicate this error by following the exact steps
1. Open Powerarchiver
2. Click the Open Archive Button within the Home Menu and open an archive.
3. Click Options and Configuration
4. Within the View Tab, Select “View Archive Folders Bar” Then “OK”
5. Close PowerArchiver using the “X” Bar on the top right corner of PA.
The error message box containing the following message should appear.
POWERARC.EXE - Application Error
The Instruction at “0x00000000” referenced memory at “0x00000000”. The memory could not be “read”.
Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the programYou can follow this exact same process but instead of closing the application using the “X” close it using the “Close Archive” Cross in top left menu of PA 2007.

what version of PA?
-
PA 2007 Beta 5 using the moden style menus.
-
I suppse this has something to do with archive using it - what type of archive you are using (ZIP, 7-ZIP, …)? Does this happends with other formats. Can you send us Registry snapshot of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PowerArchiver?

I have tried it with
Zip, 7zip and CAB and they all have the same error. each file ranges from 12 kb to 23 megabytes.
-
can you save your registry, zip it and send it to support @ conexware. com
Save key : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PowerArchiver
That way we will be able to have exact settings you have and we can try it out here.
thanks,

Hi PA Crew,
I am still experiencing this same issues on more than one PC,
My Work PC
My Home Workstation
And both of my LaptopsAll of which Have
MS Windows XP SP2

But again if I follow the following steps the error message will apear.
1. Open PA
2. Click on Show PA Bar
3. deselect then reselect do this a couple of times then close PA Using the Red X on the far right.I have goverment erased my harddrive and installed XP Pro SP2 from scracth then updated everything via Windows Update once complete I installed a fresh PA 2007 Beta 6 and it still happened.

I can’t reproduce either (Beta 6).
Some checks -
These steps are simply PA window with no archive open?<close pa=“” using=“” the=“” red=“” x=“”>
So you are using “Classic Toolbar”? (as neither Modern display has a Red X). Do you have any skins active?<click on=“” show=“” pa=“” bar=“”>
I suppose you mean “Show Folders Bar” button next to “Desktop” dropdown with “Explorer View Mode” enabled?<do this=“” a=“” couple=“” of=“” times=“”>
i.e. More than once - so five times should be enough to reproduce?
By the way - Does it matter if you finish with Folders Bar showing or not?</do></click></close> -
Typical :(
After typing above - I then got the crash!I attach a crash log created by Inspector IIXII if that is useful see
“http://www.opera.com/support/search/supsearch.dml?index=432”- from my checks above:
No archive open.
Classic Toolbar (default skin).
“Show Folders Bar” button clicked five/six times - ending with Folders bar active.

- from my checks above:
-
Yep! thats the one! However, I expereince that sometimes just doing it the once! eg select then deselect instead of several times.
-
I’ve tried, but so far have been unable to get to crash with zip or 7-zip files.
-
can someone save me their PA registry so we can reproduce it here?
thanks,
-
-
I emailed it ages ago and didnt get a reply :o) and as above put it on the forum.
