Queue big
-
I’m using the latest beta 2007 and most times I shutdown and restart the computer the queue icon on the tray comes up. I have deselected it and restarted the computer and sometimes it doesn’t come back on and sometimes it does.
I’m using windows 2000 and have reformated the hard drive so i know for certain it is a pa queue bug.
-
you have deselected it from where?
-
from the queue in the configuration.
hope this is right way to do it
-
I can also confiurm that it is back in the tray this morning even though i have deselected it, last night
-
The same scenario has happened to me also.
ps… Power Archiver is great!

It appears that on installation PA installs the Starter under Windows Autorun (whether you enable it or not).
When you then disable it (via tray or in PA config) this is only effective for the current Windows “session”. It does NOT disable/delete the Autorun entry - so it is started on every reboot. -
Starting of PA Starter doesnt have anything to do with Queue (ie you dont have to use queue to use PA Starter). So disabling Queue wont disable PA starter.
However from B3, you will be asked if you want to disable it when you quit via system tray icon. This feature was removed when we re-wrote code for PA Starter during alpha testing (it was always planned).
thanks,

So you are saying PAStarter is not running after installation - Enabling Queue means setting and running PAStarter?

Can the relationship between queue and PA Starter be clarified, please?

it is not that complicated - queue needs PA starter, but PA Starter does not need Queue. So if PA Starter is started, disabling queue wont have any effect on it.
Since beta 3, when you exit PA Starter, it asks you if you want to disable it from starting.
