False alarm with norton antivirus?
-
We seem to be having a problem with new Norton Antivirus 2006 definitions thinking part of PowerArchiver is a virus.
It says:
object name: C:\Program files\…\PACABSFX.DAT
virus name: Trojan.Abwiz.F
Action taken: File automatically deleted. We think it’s probably a false alarm, but would like to be sure. Is anybody else experiencing this problem? How is the fact that this file has suddenly been deleted going to affect our installation?

please report it to norton as false positive and I am sure they will be quick about fixing it.
It is an sfx stub for cab files, so without it, you wont be able to create sfx cab files.
thanks,

Ok, I have the same problem but I deleted the file. What now? Do I have to unistall/reinstall or can I just get this ‘missing’ file from someone?
Why should we be the ones to inform Norton if the problem is between to companies? Is that not something the tech guys need to hammer out anyway? Wouldn’t a ‘false’ positve sound better coming from you guys anyway?

You are using their product, and you are one paying for it, so it is definetly something their paying customer should let them know for faster response.
