Used to be once upon a time the phrase “Lifetime Updates” was prominently displayed on the home page. Now that phrase is gone.
My question is if I buy PowerArchiver now how long will my seral last before I’m required to pay an upgrade fee?
Thanks.

mmh…good point.
I bought PA because it’s really a good software…but also for its “lifetime” license. So a good thing would be keeping one’s word and don’t have old customers pay for PA again.

Business license buyers get 2 next versions for free - PA 2007 and PA 2008, and Personal license customers get lifetime upgrades for free. This is explained at 2nd page of shopping cart.
These licenses are active since PA 2002 actually, which was 4 years ago? So you have long memory :-).
As to the old customers (this would be PA 2001 customers?), no change for them of course. We cant/wont ever change previous licensing - so if you purchased PA 2006 Personal, you will get updates to PA, no matter what what we do in 2012.

Thanks for the clarification, spwolf. You should make that a faq or something. Burying that info on the second page of the shopping cart makes it less than ‘prominent’.
Good to know that personal users still get lifetime licenses.

well, you have to make selection in the shop when you purchase PA, so it is very visible. Not enough space on the front page of shop since you select International/English there…

I’m for one happy that a “Lifetime Licence” means that–it was a major reason for choosing this product (besides the fact that it worked well!) Other products should follow this model–how many of us bought “lifetime” license" until it was clarified–“while we support the product” (Norton)?
