How can I deactivate this annoying shoutbox?

Is there some option to turn off this stupid shoutbox here in this forum. Even when I uncheck the option it always comes back.

Something must be broken I fear. I just tried hiding it via settings and that doesn’t appear to work, as it’s unchecked once again after saving settings.

What is the problem with it? I just scroll down past it.

If the OP finds it annoying that is his business IMHO. Added to that, the mechanism for hiding it does not seem to work…a double whammie!

Yeah, it is very annoying to me too. I think there is no option other then ignoring those notifications!
