Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)
I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.
Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption
PA - Backup - Week Number

Hi Guys,
A pritty simple request.
Can you add “W” as Week Number based on the number per calendar Year ie 1 - 52.
That way for my scripts it would say Backup_WK06_2011.
I like many do reports daily, weekly and periodly but my backups are weekly it would make life allot easier is all.
Thanks Again.

and the requests just keep on comin’…:D

what would be better is if you could have the date as the name of the file instead

That too is a good idea as an additional tick box option. Thus if a user has a folder named " Database backup" they can use date reference instead of putting in a description 1st!
Good one David!

You can add a time stamp of your own devising to the file name. You could set the month (or year) as the first item of the stamp, and then make the time stamp a prefix to the filename rather than a suffix. If so, you can short the resulting backup files chronologically (within a year if you put the month first).
I suppose it might be slightly easier for SR’s purposes to have a week # . . . . but wouldn’t the current options come close to meeting your purposes? I have certainly found this option very helpful.

I understand the date config option yes it is possible to manually write out a date name. But if a tick box was available to override the Name with Date Format it would reduce time.
As for the week thing, the options for Day, Month, Year, even “Day Of the week” but not week number.

Sir Richard,
You obviously are very knowledgeable, so I think I must be missing something . . . but on the slight chance I am not . . .
if I have a backup job, and run it, I don’t have to manually enter the file name.
I realize it does have an option for the week number, but, if I understood your task it look as if this would work just fine.
If I choose this (“Y-M-D-H-m-S –” as my prefix and “DailyBk.zipx” as the filename, then the PBS automatically creates a file with the following name: “2011-6-21-15-20-18 – DailyBk.zipx.”
And, I can FTP them automatically to an off-site backup location.
Then you can sort them in your file list chronologically.

it would be nice to have version numbers automatically assied by date to the backup.
Heres the clever part
An option to keep a certain number of backups nd then otherwrite back ups after a specified date. Thats why the automatic dates would help in this situation
