Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)
I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.
Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption
Xobni - PA Mini App
-
PA Team,
Like many other’s Xobni is an application plugin for Outlook of such allows users to index, and use apps for emails tasks.
It would be great to see if PowerArchiver could create an Xobni App. In essence it would be the Outlook Plugin but tweaked slightly for Xobni users.
You could offer it as a free app but with add’s on the bottom of emails when compressing files. ie “Compressed with PowerArchiver 2011” visit http:… etc etc
Just a thought.
-
what would be its function?
-
It’s function would be as the PAOP to compress files being sent out.
The only difference would be the user doesnt have PowerArchiver installed on their system and they dont have the ability to change specific settings.
Thus to encourage them to buy PA possibly in the long run.
-
i dont understand - whats the difference between PAOP and xobni PA compression plugin?
does PAOP not work with xobni?
-
No No… I think we are getting our Wire’s crossed :)
Xobni… does not have a PowerArchiver Plugin… it has to be written for xobni.
It would be good to see powerarchiver xobni plugin available if conexware designed one.
:)

i dont understand what would be the difference in functionality between PAOP and PA for Xobni?
-
basically what this guy is trying to say is that the new plugin would only allow compressing and if you need any more features you have to buy the full version of pa.

Finnaly!! Thank you David!
Think of the benifit! All those users and companies that use Xobni that may not have an archive utility and send loads of attachments and get bouncebacks etc etc
then ConeXware bring out a free Xobni Plugin that offers users a feel of the best Archiver in the world! Although limited come every email that PowerArchiver compresses in zip format only there is a text file in the archive with Advertisment details on PowerArchiver 2011!!
There is a reason I’m going down this route :) trying to help PA get out there even more!
And if a user buys PowerArchiver Pro with Outlook plugin this then replaces the Xobni Free version that is limited to Zip only no filters or options to name the compressed file before send.
-
i still dont understand what does it have to do with Xobni at all?
Why not do the free plugin for Outlook and then you dont limit yourself to the only Xobni users, but it is open market for every Outlook user.

Simple… There are hundreds of thousands of users who use Xobni that dont know who PowerArchiver is and what they can do for archiving or how it can benifit email users.
Just another method of using programs and other sites to advertise PA.
-
what we are trying to say is for the outlook plugin to work you need powerarchiver what we are saying is have a free outlook plugin with limited features but inorder to get all the features you need to buy powerarchiver. Basically limited freeware that encourages people to buy the full version sort of thing. You can use any method just that method suggested has a following already
-
are you guys even sure xobni supports handling of attachments?
-
I cant see why not, even if Xobni doesnt all the program is is a Plugin to Outlook just like POAP.
ConeXware could create a basic webapp with Xobni giving stats on email attachments size & what it could be with PowerArchiver Outlook Plugin then via xobni download a special free version with limits.
